Chris is a 30 year student of emergency services and aviation. Having started his career as an explorer with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, his experience includes over 20 years in the US Army with various assignments in Special Operations and aviation.

During the past 20 years he has specialized in Technical Rescue as an instructor in Swift Water, Dive and Heavy Rescue for the California State Fire Marshall’s Office. In addition he owns and operates a successful technical rescue/consulting business and a part 61 flight school that specializes in initial and recurrent training for public safety aviation crews.

Chris has served as a Senior Paramedic and Medical / Rescue Specialist within the FEMA USAR and NDMS systems. His deployments have included the following:

 - World Trade Center 9/11, Asian Tsunami’s.
 - Hurricanes Katrina, Pablo, Michelle, Emily, and Iniki.
 - Bam (IRAN), Turkey, Pakistan, and Loma Prieta Earthquakes.
 - North Dakota, California Floods.
 - Bosnia Refugee Deployment – Camp Dix.

His professional assignments have included Lifeguard, Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Apparatus Engineer, Flight Paramedic, Law Enforcement Pilot and is currently working as a Fire Captain/Paramedic assigned to a Paramedic Engine company in the Los Angeles basin.

Chris educates extensively nationally and internationally to include representing the State of California on numerous overseas training missions.

Chris possesses Bachelor’s degrees in Aeronautics and Emergency Management and Associate degrees in Fire Technology and Emergency Medical Services.

He has worked with business and industry designing and implementing their Emergency Disaster Contingency Plans with hands-on training.

Chris is on the flight training comittee of the Helicopter Association International and the executive committee of the National Institute for Urban Search & Rescue.
